Scarlet Waxcap

Argentine SCARLET WAXCAP.
Over ten years ago, I was guided to co-create this essence from the Scarlet Waxcap red mushroom - it was a process that felt deeply powerful, though at the time I didn’t fully understand why. I made it, honoured it, and set it aside, trusting that its purpose would one day become clear. Just a few days ago, someone unexpectedly asked me if I had a mushroom essence, and in that moment, I knew with absolute clarity: the time had come for my Argentine SCARLET WAXCAP essence to step forward and be shared with the world. It never ceases to amaze me how my essences seem to hold their own innate wisdom, waiting patiently for the exact right moment to reveal themselves and offer their healing properties - their gifts.

Mushrooms have long been symbols of magic and often seen as gateways to the unseen, connected to the fairy realms and otherworldly dimensions. The Scarlet Waxcaps, with their vivid red colour, were strikingly beautiful, so small and delicate that they almost didn’t seem real, as if they had appeared out of another world entirely.

It was a windy, unusually overcast day, dull and grey, with very little sunlight. Yet as I began making the SCARLET WAXCAP essence, something beautiful happened: the sun broke through the clouds and shone directly over the bowl, it felt like a blessing. I used the non-cut method, placing the bowl of water beside the Scarlet Waxcaps bright red mushrooms, allowing their energy to infuse the water gently and respectfully. There were five mushrooms present, a number rich with symbolism, often associated with change, transformation, and protection. Furthermore, the number five is significant for whole body healing in Chinese medicine, the most direct association is with the Water element and the Kidneys, but the concept of 'five' is integral to the entire system of the five zang organs.
