Persian Lilac

Argentine Persian Lilac (Pride of India).
The Persian Lilac is not native to South America, but originates from the regions stretching from the Himalayas through China, Japan, India, and Pakistan, among other countries.
When I discovered a Persian Lilac tree growing here, in a land so far from where it naturally belongs, I was completely amazed. It felt like a message from my roots — a gentle reminder of where my family comes from and the deep ancestral threads that continue to weave through my life.
My family was born in India and lived in Pakistan for many years, so the Persian Lilac, also known as Pride of India, holds a very special meaning for me. Finding it here felt like a sign from my ancestors — as though they were saying, “We are always with you.” It reminded me that our ancestors walk beside us every day, guiding, protecting, and offering their love and wisdom across time and distance. They are the unseen hands that help shape our path, and it is so important to honour them and to feel gratitude for the life and strength they have passed down to us. It was on a lovely, sunny day with clear blue skies, during a Waxing Gibbous Moon, that I was guided to create this essence — a quiet, peaceful Sunday — still and calm all around — and I felt a profound sense of connection between heaven and earth, between our ancestors and those of us here in the physical world. The comforting fragrance of Persian Lilac (Pride of India) drifted through the air, filling the land as the magic unfolded to create this beautiful essence.
Here in Argentina, the Persian Lilac is known as the Paraíso Tree — the Tree of Paradise. I find that name so fitting, as it reminds us that paradise is not some distant realm, but something we can create here on Earth, in our everyday lives.
When we open our hearts in gratitude — for the simple gift of life, for the beauty that surrounds us, and for the unseen guidance of our ancestors — we begin to cultivate our own paradise within. And perhaps it’s no coincidence that everyone who has ever come to this land has described it as a paradise — a reflection, maybe, of the harmony and beauty that already live here.
The Paraíso Tree stands as a living symbol of that truth: that paradise is not elsewhere, but here, now, within us all.
